Atlas Expands Worldwide Exposure Network for Added Customer Convenience
Atlas Weathering Services Group (AWSG), a division of Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC Chicago, has expanded its Worldwide Exposure Network (WEN) to better accommodate customers throughout the world.
With enhanced exposure sites and services in the USA, England, China, Korea and Australia, AWSG offers customers cohesive, expertly orchestrated exposure testing throughout the world. Customers have the opportunity to gather extensive information on the durability of their material in different world markets.
"By offering global testing and single-source convenience, we help customers compete in a global market while saving valuable time and effort. We can manage the organization of multiple site exposures, oversee different testing requirements and parameters, and handle all the shipping, which can be complicated for international transportation," said Jack Martin, President of AWSG.
Notable additions to the network of over 20 outdoor exposure sites and 4 indoor labs are:
• Miami, Florida - USA. With the purchase of 18 acres of pristine land, AWSG has created the worlds largest and most advanced global benchmark weathering testing facility.
• Deerwood, Minnesota - USA. Deerwood is a new exposure site for cold climate testing. Characterized by a harsh climate of extreme cold temperatures during the winter months, this site will provide valuable test data for plastics and other various products and materials that may fail in extreme cold end-use conditions.
• Medina, OH - USA. In partnership with OMEGA, this new Midwest site has both weathering and evaluation services. With the added advantage of having the evaluation services on site, customers will experience a better turnaround time.
• Bicester, Oxfordshire - England. AWSG's lab facility in Bicester has achieved ISO 1705 accreditation assuring customers that lab work being performed meets the highest levels of quality.
• Hainan, China. Partnering with Guangzhou Electric Apparatus Research Institute (GEARI), AWSG now offers expanded outdoor weathering testing in China's growing marketplace.
• Seosan, South Korea. In a new partnership with the Korean Institute of Construction Materials (KICM), AWSG will work closely with KICM to perform further research in the field of materials testing and development of weathering test methodology. With years of technical expertise, AWSG will assist in the design and development of the KICM outdoor exposure site ensuring top quality, state-of-the art weathering services.
• Townsville, Australia. Townsville, in conjunction with the Miami, Florida site, is part of AWSG's EverSummer® program, an outdoor exposure service offering a full year of summer exposure by allowing users to test the same samples in two summer exposures sites. For instance, northern hemisphere summer exposures can be performed in Miami from March 21 through September 21. Upon the conclusion of the Miami summer, the specimens are then sent via express delivery to Townsville for the start of summer in the southern hemisphere. The specimens would then be returned to Miami on March 21st for continued exposure or returned to the client. With available summer exposures 365 days a year, customers can reduce the time it takes for material development and validation, ultimately lowering their development costs. EverSummer is a valuable tool that addresses the increasing need for faster data and quicker times to market.
The growing AWSG WEN has over 20 exposure sites around the globe comprising of the world's most sophisticated accelerated weathering laboratory, outdoor weathering services and sample evaluation facilities.
