Atlas Material Testing Technology enhances the Xenotest 150 S+

Linsengericht, September 2006 - Atlas has enhanced its Xenotest 150 S+, the first xenon testing instrument with an air-cooled xenon lamp and a standard of the textile industry.

The Xenotest 150 and it's successor, the Xenotest 150 S have both lead to material improvements, especially in the textile industry. The emphasis of the 150 S+ enhancements focus on both an increase of operator convenience and an improved control system. The Xenotest 150 S+ offers an ideal combination of state-of-the-art technology, economical testing, optimum reproducibility and good correlation to natural weathering.

Standard features and benefits of the enhanced Xenotest 150 S+ include:
- Large touch screen for convenient use including selection of local language capability
- Simplified, menu driven programming
- Dynamic memory offering ten free programmable tests and additional pre-programmed standard tests, each with up to 12 test cycles
- Colour touch screen display to monitor all test parameters
- Data management via SmartMedia™ Card, RS232 or USB

Improvements of the new control system were a result of the latest generation of fibre optic cables that allow an optimal data transfer between process control and system modules. The easy to use touch screen display, the reliable sensor technology and the multifunctional instrument features, such as an ultrasonic humidification and specimen spray system, prove the 150 S+ as an universal weathering testing instrument for versatile applications. It is an ideal instrument for weathering tests according to ISO 105-B04 and AATCC lightfastness test of textiles, based on the equipment technology of the air-cooled xenon lamp (Method 16, Option H).
