The SUNTEST, manufactured by Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC, is an affordable, accurate tabletop instrument for screening new materials for lightfastness and weatherability. The SUNTEST line of instruments starts at $7660, making it the lowest priced, accurate xenon testing tool on the market.
"One important criteria to look for in Xenon Arc testing instruments is how well it accurately meets a variety of environmental applications," said Jay Lipscomb, Weathering Instruments Product Manager, "Other less capable instruments do not match end use environments as well as the Atlas family of low-end weathering instruments."
The SUNTEST has a sophisticated reflector system that provides uniform irradiance on the sample plane to maximize the exposure area and a reflective mirror system that optimizes radiation output shortening test times. The customized xenon light filter system will match specific conditions in a sample's end use environment such as those in pharmaceutical, graphic arts and other photostability applications.
In addition to pharmaceutical and graphic arts materials, the SUNTEST can be used for agrochemicals, building sealants, dental materials, powder coatings, cosmetics, packaging, textiles and geotextiles. The SUNTEST meets many international industry standards such as ISO, EPA/ASTM, ICH and RILEM DBS.
