Successful Atlas VIEEW™ installations in automotive industry
First VIEEW™ installations in USA and Europe at leading car manufacturers Ford and Daimler-Chrysler
Gelnhausen & Chicago, January 29, 2001 - Atlas is pleased to announce the installations of the first two digital image analyzers VIEEW™ in the automotive industry. Ford in the United States and Daimler-Chrysler in Germany have selected the new flagship of the Analytical Instruments Group as their instrument of choice to evaluate surface defects for automotive materials applications. Working in close cooperation with these two leading car manufacturers, the VIEEW™ software was customized to meet the specific needs of Daimler-Chrysler and Ford.
The VIEEW™ system allows laboratory personnel to analyze surface structures quickly, precisely and with high reproducibility and repeatability. Its combination of an ingenious optical system and intelligent teachable software makes VIEEW™ an indispensable tool for the objective inspection of surface defects.
The classification of surface damages on the sample, caused for example by gravel impact, cross hatch, filiform corrosion, and delamination, is performed in accordance with national and international standards or customers specifications used for visual evaluation. VIEEW™ takes the classification of samples to a new level of quality, convenience, repeatability and reproducibility.
We invite you to visit Atlas at SAE Show 2001 (March 5-8) in Detroit and at European Coatings Show (April 3-5) in Nuremberg to learn more about the VIEEW™ system, and the wide array of test instruments and services that Atlas has to offer. As well join us March 6, 2001 in the afternoon for a press conference at SAE Show as we will present the variety of testing solutions together with our VIEEW™ automotive customers.
