Atlas offers a wide range of instruments and systems that simulate the environmental parameters of sunlight, temperature and moisture in the form of rain, dew and humidity.

These parameters are controlled to replicate actual end use conditions. The chambers incorporate light sources ranging from carbon arc to xenon; metal halide to fluorescent lamps. Typical applications can be found in a variety of industries: textiles, automotive, paints and coatings, plastics and polymers, paper, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Atlas Weathering Services Group (AWSG) is an internationally known full service materials testing and evaluation laboratory with main offices located in Phoenix, Arizona (DSET Laboratories) and Miami, Florida (South Florida Test Service). In addition to the main locations, AWSG has developed a Worldwide Exposure Network (WEN) which includes many climatologically different regions for the exposure of materials. AWSG also offers laboratory testing including accelerated weathering and corrosion testing at labs in the US and Europe. ATLAS Material Testing Technology Laboratories (AMTT Laboratories) which is headquartered in Lochem, The Netherlands, offers both advanced accelerated laboratory testing and outdoor test sites for reproducing European inland conditions.

Worldwide, materials are more or less exposed to natural and industrial corrosion in the form of humidity, smokestack and vehicle exhaust, as well as salt fog and salt spray. Atlas offers a variety of test instruments that predict the corrosion resistance of materials such as paints and coatings. Specimens are exposed to different environments through very simple to multi-step cycles.

K.H. Steuernagel Lichttechnik GmbH has been a leading supplier of technical lighting systems and components for the last 15 years. As part of a strategic alliance, Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC and K.H. Steuernagel Lichttechnik GmbH offer a wide range of specialty lighting systems including solar simulation and high speed lighting used for crash sled testing. These systems are widely used throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.

Stresses on assembled textiles and individual fibers cause premature failure. Knowledge of how textiles react to stresses is critical to decisions in the manufacturing, purchasing and utility of textiles and garments. Atlas Textile Test Products help identify which fibers, dyes and processes are more susceptible to fading, staining, pilling, tearing, abrasion, streaking, snagging, laundering and other factors.

Whether testing the heat release rate of materials developed by aerospace or aircraft manufacturers, furniture makers and others; or testing the fire resistance of children's sleepwear, automotive interior materials or other textiles, Atlas offers a family of fire chambers that measure and test fire hazards as specified by numerous national and international standards organizations.

Environmental testing is used to predict product stability and performance in a wide range of conditions. Atlas offers two types of environmental testing chambers, a temperature testing chamber and a full climatic chamber for temperature and humidity testing. Atlas partners with Weiss Umwelttechnik GmbH (Weiss Technik) for the marketing and production of standard climatic test chambers in the United States and Canada.
