SEPAP Photoaging

The SEPAP test devices were developed based on numerous studies concerning the photo-aging processes affecting polymer materials by analyzing the chemical changes at the molecular level exposed to both climatic stress and accelerated conditions. This allows service life prediction of polymers as well as development of photo-stable formulas in a short amount of time.

Designed as an analytical tool to understand the degradation mechanisms of naturally aging polymers at the molecular level, the SEPAP unit replicates the chemical changes in accelerated, controlled lab conditions that are achieved through long-term, natural weathering conditions, from which similar changes in macroscopic properties (mechanical, aesthetical, etc.) can be expected.

Advanced analytical and chemical expertise, experience, and material database are usually required to make the SEPAP methodology work best.
