Lightfastness Instruments

Lightfastness, or colorfastness to light, is the resistance of materials to fading due to exposure to sunlight or an artificial light source. Lightfastness can be rapidly determined using a laboratory accelerated instrument, either a water-cooled xenon lamp device, such as an Atlas Fade-Ometer® or Weather-Ometer®, or an air-cooled device, such as a Xenotest® 150 S+ or Alpha. The xenon long arc, when properly filtered, simulates UV and visible solar radiation more closely than any other artificial light source. This assures that your test results are repeatable and reproducible. Xenon arc instruments are widely used by the textile, polymer, paint and automotive industries.
