SUNTEST Family

  • Overview +


    SUNTEST instruments are compact material test chambers for accelerated lightfastness and weathering testing based on filtered xenon lamp technology. All SUNTEST chambers offer a horizontal test plane which is particularly useful for testing 3-D specimens. Lightfastness testing aims at testing a material under solar radiation and temperature only – Weathering testing adds water and moisture to the test.

    Inside a SUNTEST, the applied stresses are intensified in such a way that allows you to see the material property changes which would occur over the course of months or years in real time. Property changes such as color fading, embrittlement, cracking become visible within weeks.
    • SUNTEST XXL+

    The Atlas SUNTEST XXL+ has an extra-large test chamber for standard lightfastness and weathering testing. It automatically controls all main weathering parameters. As with the SUNTEST XLS+, its extra tall test chamber is well suited for 3-D specimens testing. A touch screen makes it simple to program, and the Ethernet interface easy for network integration.
    SUNTEST XXL+ FD

    The Atlas SUNTEST XXL+ FD has an extra-large test chamber for lightfastness and weathering testing. It automatically controls all main weathering parameters. This application-tailored model has special features for testing Consumer Goods, Food & Beverages, and Packaging A touch screen makes it simple to program, and the Ethernet interface easy for network integration.
    SUNTEST XXL+ ST

    The Atlas SUNTEST XXL+ ST is specially designed for testing automotive exterior/interior parts according to SAE standards. It has an extra-large test chamber and automatically controls all main weathering parameters. A touch screen makes it simple to program, and the Ethernet interface easy for network integration.
    SUNTEST XLS+

    The Atlas SUNTEST XLS+ provides about twice the exposure area of the CPS+. It offers the tallest test chamber making it especially useful for 3-D specimen testing. Additionally, it complies to various ISO, ASTM and ICH industry standards. The XLS+ can apply water either by spraying or flooding. A touch screen makes it simple to program and the Ethernet interface makes network integration easy. Since its introduction in 1998, the XLS+ has managed to continuously set performance benchmarks and is widely used in pharmaceutical R&D and accelerated weathering testing of polymers, coatings and sealants.
    SUNTEST CPS+

    The Atlas SUNTEST CPS+ is the original benchtop xenon for more than 40 years, and used worldwide for testing polymers, cosmetics, packaging and printing. The chamber has a 28x20cm test area suitable for small test specimens. The applications are broad, ranging from UV-stability testing, studying the light stability of chemicals (colors, scents, additives), determining sun protection factors of skin care products, or product shelf-life (ASLT). The SUNTEST CPS+ is the practical introductory benchtop solution for those new to light stability and weathering testing.
