Our experts are frequently asked to recommend literature on weathering testing and technology. To meet this request, we have compiled a list of selected textbooks, proceedings, and standards that may be useful for both beginners and experienced weathering experimenters. Publications in scientific and technical journals are not included here, as they would simply be too numerous.
A) Textbooks
The list starts with brand new publications. It also includes several older but still very useful textbooks, which are often referred to as “must-reads” for weathering scientists.

C) Standards
Many weathering standards do not only describe methods for testing and evaluation or technology details. Several basic international standards also provide “general guidance” on weathering and lightfastness.
• ISO 4892-1 Plastics - Methods of exposure to laboratory light sources - Part 1: General guidance
• ISO 16474-1 Methods of exposure to laboratory light sources- Part 1: General guidance
• ISO 877-1 Plastics - Methods of exposure to solar radiation - Part 1: General guidance.
• ASTM G113 Standard Terminology Relating to Natural and Artificial Weathering Tests of Nonmetallic Materials
