The German book Handbuch der Bewitterung by Florian Feil was recently published by Vincentz-Verlag.
Introduction
TThis time, I am writing on my own behalf. Over four years ago, Vincentz-Verlag asked me if I would be willing to update the German textbook Kurzzeitbewitterung (also published in English as Accelerated Testing) by Ulrich Schulz, former employee of BAM, Germany. I was deeply honored, as this book has been considered the "bible of coatings weathering" for many years. So, I didn't have to think long before accepting the offer. However, the task turned out to be more demanding than expected. The original book was quite dated, and rather than simply revising it, I ended up creating a completely new book. Now, the work is done, and the German edition has just been released. Details:

Motivation
With Handbuch der Bewitterung, my goal was to create a comprehensive and essential resource for professionals involved in product development, quality control, and research, providing deep insights into the effects of weathering on materials. It is designed to offer both theoretical insights and practical guidance for improving the weather resistance of materials and coatings.
Content Overview
The book is structured to cover the fundamental principles of weathering, the different types of weathering processes, and the methods for testing and analyzing the effects of weathering on materials. It explains the basic concepts of weathering, including the physical, chemical, and biological processes that contribute to material degradation.

English Version
Vincentz-Verlag is an international publisher and co-organizer of many important coatings-related trade shows, such as the European Coatings Show (ECS) and the American Coatings Show (ACS). It is intended to release an English edition as well, hopefully soon.
