We’re excited to announce the launch of the next generation of our SUNTEST® XLS and XXL series xenon-arc instruments. Engineered for accelerated light exposure testing of large or 3-D specimens, the SUNTEST platform is a trusted solution for evaluating the weathering, lightfastness, and photostability of products.
Upgraded SUNTEST
Simplifying setup, enhancing control, and increasing testing efficiency, the new SUNTEST upgrades include:
- Improved 10.1’’ XenoTouch® II touchscreen interface
- Expanded library of standardized test methods
- New WXView II software for remote monitoring and accessing test data
Together, these new features help reduce operator workload, minimize setup errors, and improve consistency, particularly in high-throughput and multi-user lab environments. Both the XLS and XXL series will also incorporate Atlas’ new color scheme and branding.
New XenoTouch II 2.0 User Interface
At the center of the redesign is the XenoTouch® II 2.0 interface, now standard on both SUNTEST XLS and XXL models. The updated UI is one of the most significant functional upgrades, featuring icon-based navigation and multi-language support (15 languages). It aligns the SUNTEST user experience with Atlas’ Xenotest® and Ci Weather-Ometer® instruments for consistent workflows across platforms.

Expanded Library of Testing Standards
The interface also provides access to an expanded library of preloaded, industry-standard test methods – including protocols commonly found in ISO, ICH, and ASTM guidelines. This extension of the test library makes setting up the SUNTEST significantly easier.
Setpoint Monitoring
Setpoint monitoring functionality is also included, allowing users to define and enforce tolerances for irradiance, temperature, and other exposure variables. If parameters fall outside defined limits, the system alerts users in real-time. Setpoint monitoring is essential for everyone who prioritizes testing reliability and quality control.
WXView II for Remote Monitoring and Accessing Test Data
Remote monitoring capabilities have been improved through full compatibility with WXView® II – Atlas’s cloud-based or locally deployed data acquisition platform. Users can access real-time and historical test data from any location. A fixed-format PDF reporting feature, currently in development, will support audit-ready documentation workflows.
WXView® II: Atlas’s cloud-based or locally deployed data acquisition platform
The SUNTEST series continues to serve industries where accelerated light exposure testing is essential, including coatings, polymers, automotive components, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage and electronic products. With the capacity to test large or irregularly shaped samples, both SUNTEST XLS and SUNTEST XXL are particularly well-suited for 3-D product testing.
